A powered single cam, fixed displacement radial piston motor built for low speed and very high torque. Parker acquired Calzoni, and the range is cataloged as Parker Calzoni. The MRT, MRTE and MRTF families cover sizes from 7100 up to 23000, and they are commonly paired with one stage gearboxes as hydraulic geardrives.
The code reads as an example like MRT 7100P - D1 M1 F1 S1 N. MRT, MRTE or MRTF is the motor version, the number is the size, and the fields that follow give the shaft, the speed control or encoder drive, the seal material and the port configuration. The shaft options include DIN 5480 splined and DIN 5480 female splined.
Read the seal field in the code: N is NBR for mineral oil, F is an NBR 15 bar shaft seal, V is FPM (Viton) seals, and U means no shaft seal, which is the build used when the motor runs behind a brake.
The code carries a drive field for speed sensing: N none, Q encoder drive, C mechanical tachometer drive, T tacho generator drive, and M incremental Elcis encoder at 500 pulses per revolution, in uni-directional or bi-directional form.
The MRT, MRTF and MRTE families run 7100, 8100, 8500, 9000, 9900, 10800, 14000, 15500, 16500, 17000, 18000, 19500, 20000, 21500 and 23000. Each size has its own operating diagram for torque and speed against pressure.
We source Calzoni motors and parts to order. Send the full code from the nameplate including the size and the suffix fields, plus the gearbox ratio if it is a geardrive assembly, and we will quote it.
