Parker Hannifin acquired Denison and publishes current bulletins under Parker numbers, but the Denison model code convention is unchanged. A pump badged Parker Denison decodes exactly as a Denison.

Parker on a hydraulic pump covers a very wide range, because Parker Hannifin grew its hydraulics business largely by acquisition. Before you can find parts you need to know which Parker pump you have, and the fastest way to narrow it is to work out which company originally built it.

Start here: most Parker-badged industrial pumps that come to us for parts are Parker Denison, and they decode with the Denison model code, not a Parker one. If your code starts with T6, T67, T7 or P followed by a number, go straight to the Denison model code decoder.

Why so many different conventions

Each acquired line kept the numbering it arrived with. Denison brought the T-series and Gold Cup codes. Commercial Intertech brought the PGP and PGM gear products. The Torqmotor family traces back through TRW and Ross Gear. That is why there is no single Parker model code to learn, and why the first question is always which family you are holding.

Telling them apart by sight

Denison T-series vane pump. Rectangular or oval body with a removable cover, and a cartridge inside. Usually a square or two-bolt mounting flange. Quiet running.
Gold Cup piston pump. Large, heavy, barrel shaped, with a valve block on one end and a visible control. Built for closed circuits and hydrostatic transmissions.
Torqmotor. Short, round, with a gerotor or geroler section at the back and a heavy output shaft. Looks very like a Char-Lynn orbital motor, because it is the same class of product.
Bent axis F11 or F12. Distinctly angled housing where the shaft and the cylinder barrel are not in line.

Torqmotor owners: the whole TB, TC, TE, TF, TG, TH, TJ and TL range is served by a small number of seal kits, and which one you need depends on the model and the date code, because the legacy and current kits differ. Send both and we will confirm rather than guess.

If you cannot read the code

Send photographs of the nameplate, the port face and the shaft end, plus the shaft diameter and type, the mounting flange bolt pattern, the port sizes, and the machine it came out of. That is normally enough to place the family, which is the hard part.
