Reading a Poclain model code
A Poclain code such as MS08-2-123-A08-1120-0000 carries the frame size, the displacement and the shaft and distributor configuration. The frame number (02, 05, 08, 11, 18, 25, 35, 50) is what decides which parts fit, two motors of the same frame with different displacements share most wear components but not all of them, so send the full code rather than just the frame.

What fails on a Poclain motor
- Shaft seal leaks the most common single job, and the cheapest to catch early.
- Loss of torque or drive worn pistons, rollers or cam track. A seal kit will not recover this; the rotating parts need attention.
- Case drain running high internal leakage past the distributor or pistons, and the clearest early warning you have.
- Two-speed motor stuck in one displacement usually the selector or its seals rather than the motor itself.
Wheel and track drive motors take shock loading and contamination that industrial motors never see, so a Poclain that has been run with degraded oil often needs more than seals. That is what the teardown establishes.
