Denison Vane Pump Model Code Decoder: T6, T67 and T7 Series
Every Denison vane pump carries a model code on its nameplate, and that code is the fastest route to the right part. It tells you the frame size, the displacement, which of up to five drive shafts is fitted, which way the pump turns and what the seals are made of. This page decodes each field, then gives you the actual shaft part number for your series and drive code.
The breakdown below is taken from the Parker Hannifin Key Sheet pages in the HY29 service bulletins for each series. It covers the T6, T67 and T7 vane pump families. Gold Cup and PV piston pumps use a different code and are not covered here.
A single pump, field by field
A T6C reads like this:
| T6C | Series. A letter can follow it to flag special parts, and a W here means the severe duty shaft build. |
| B22 | Cam ring, which sets the displacement. On a T6C, B22 is 70.3 ml/rev. The letter and number pair is specific to the series, so a B22 in one family is not the same displacement as a B22 in another. |
| 1 | Type of shaft. This is the digit that decides which drive shaft you need. See below. |
| R | Direction of rotation. R is clockwise, L is counter-clockwise, both viewed from the shaft end. |
| 00 | Porting combination. 00 is standard. |
| C | Design letter, the revision level of the pump. |
| 1 | Seal class. 1 is S1 Buna-N, 4 is S4 EPDM, 5 is S5 Viton. |
Anything after that is a modification code for a non standard build.
A double pump has two cam ring codes
Doubles and triples carry one cam ring code per section, largest first. A T6DC reads:
B38 is the P1 section, the large one, and B22 is P2, the small one. The W after the series is the severe duty shaft build, which unlocks an extra shaft code the standard pump does not have.
The two sections do not share a displacement table. On a T6DC a B14 cam ring is 47.6 ml/rev in the P1 section but 46.0 ml/rev in P2. Read the code position, not just the number.
The shaft digit is the one that matters
That single digit is the difference between a shaft that fits and one that does not. Broadly:
| 1 and 2 | Keyed shafts. 1 is normally the SAE frame for that series, 2 a non SAE variant. |
| 3 and 4 | Splined shafts, again an SAE and a non SAE variant. |
| 5 | Usually the severe duty shaft, only available on the W build. On some series 5 is a standard splined option instead. |
| 6, R, T, V, W, X | Series specific variants. The T67GB, for example, uses a DIN splined shaft. |
The exact SAE frame behind each digit changes from series to series, so we have not printed a single table that claims to cover all of them. Use the table below instead: it is built from the factory parts lists for your specific pump.
A trap worth knowing: seal codes are numbered twice
The seal class in the model code and the suffix on a seal kit part number describe the same three materials with different digits.

| Viton | model code 5 | part number ends -5 |
So a pump ending C1 takes the plain seal kit, for example S24-26384, not a kit ending -1. Only EPDM and Viton carry a suffix.
Find your shaft
Read the shaft digit off your nameplate, find your series below, and the part number is the one you need. Where we list both, the bare shaft is the shaft on its own and the assembly comes with the bearing and retaining ring already fitted, which is what most rebuilds want.

What the code does not tell you
It does not give you the seal kit number, the cartridge kit or the port plate. Those come from the parts list for your series, and every one of them is on the model catalog page linked in the last column of the table above, with an exploded view.
It also will not identify a pump that has been rebuilt with a different cam ring or shaft than it left the factory with. If the nameplate and the parts inside disagree, trust the parts.
