Where to Buy Poclain Hydraulic Motor Parts
RestoPower supplies parts and seal kits for Poclain Hydraulics MS and MSE radial piston wheel motors, the cam-lobe motors used on drilling rigs, agricultural machinery, road equipment, harvesters, mining machines and heavy self-propelled equipment. These are high-torque, low-speed motors that are almost always worth rebuilding rather than replacing, and we carry the kits to do it.
Our Poclain line is stocked, not sourced. Unlike most obsolete hydraulic lines, our Poclain catalog is held in inventory, so these parts quote fast and ship fast. Send the model and displacement from the motor and we will confirm the same business day.

What goes wrong with an MS motor
| Symptom | Usual cause | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Oil weeping from the shaft | Main shaft seal, often after the bearing takes side load | Seal kit, and check bearing condition while it is apart |
| Loss of torque, machine crawls | Worn piston and roller assemblies, or cam lobe scoring | Inspection first. A seal kit will not restore lost torque |
| Motor will not free-wheel | Two-speed or free-wheel valve stuck, or the selector circuit | Valve components. Check pilot pressure before dismantling |
| Case drain running hot or full | Internal leakage past the distributor or pistons | Rebuild. Measure case drain flow before condemning |
| Brake will not release on an MSE | Brake piston seals, or insufficient release pressure | Brake seal kit. Verify release pressure at the port first |
Identifying your Poclain motor
Poclain motors carry a model designation and a displacement that must both match. The nameplate typically shows the family, MS, MSE, MCR or MK, the frame size, and a long build code that captures displacement, shaft type, porting, valving and brake options.
Two motors of the same frame size can have very different displacements, and the seal kit varies with the build, particularly where a brake or a two-speed valve is fitted. Our guide to identifying a Poclain MS motor walks through where the numbers are and what they mean.
If the plate is gone, send photographs of the shaft end, the port face and the whole motor, plus the number of pistons visible at the case joint, the shaft type and diameter, and the mounting flange bolt pattern.

Frequently asked questions
Who sells Poclain hydraulic motor parts?
RestoPower stocks aftermarket and OEM-equivalent parts and seal kits for Poclain MS, MSE, MCR and MK radial piston motors, shipping nationwide and worldwide from Lake Orion, Michigan. Our Poclain range is held in inventory rather than sourced to order.
Can a Poclain MS motor be rebuilt?
Yes, and it is usually the right call. These motors are expensive to replace and their construction rebuilds well. A seal kit covers a leaking motor. If torque has dropped, the pistons, rollers and cam need inspection before you decide. See what a rebuild actually costs.
Which Poclain seal kit do I need?
It depends on the frame size and the build. Whether a brake or two-speed valve is fitted changes the kit. Send the full designation from the nameplate and we will match it.
Do you have a Poclain repair manual?
We work from manufacturer service literature in-house. Rather than hand you a generic PDF, send us your model and we will tell you the specific procedure, clearances and kit contents for that motor.
What is the difference between MS and MSE?
Broadly, the MSE variants add an integrated brake to the MS platform. That changes the seal kit and adds a brake release circuit to check when troubleshooting.
