What is included in a Vickers hydraulic seal kit?

A Vickers seal kit includes all o-rings, shaft seals, backup rings, and gaskets for a complete overhaul. Cartridge kits for vane pumps also include the rotor, vanes, ring, and pressure plates. RestoPower offers both seal-only kits and complete cartridge kits.

What is the difference between Buna-N and Viton seal kits?

Buna-N is the standard option for petroleum-based hydraulic fluids. Viton (FKM) is for high-temperature applications, synthetic fluids, or temperatures exceeding 250°F. Phosphate ester fluids such as Skydrol need EPDM instead. Contact RestoPower with your operating conditions if unsure.

Which seal material do you need?

Vickers codes the material in the pump model code. A blank option field is Buna-N and F3 is Viton. Vickers never cataloged an EPDM option for the V series, which matters if the machine runs phosphate ester.

Choosing the wrong material is the most common cause of a repeat failure, because the right choice is set by the fluid in the system rather than by the pump.
